Damn, that got so intense; seeing Leo's heart drop hearing Sariphi was kidnapped, the rage, then Anubis confronting him, the threat and how Anubis actually tells him to go through with that threat since he wants no part in serving another King and then that moment where Leo can't take any action as he is reminded of their history, all of this made for one hell of a ride. I'm worried for Lante because he was supposed to protect Sariphi but got protected instead.

It's funny how Sariphi is Sariphi wherever she goes but the way she handled herself, she's really becoming of a queen. I like how she was able to stay calm and composed and made sure the promise was kept. And the fact that she was already thinking a few steps ahead regarding Leo's actions and making sure he stays put in the palace was great.

I loved how you could feel the strength the voice actress put into those lines with Sariphi.

Also, while some may hate Anubis for it, I feel like this episode was a strong indicator that all he does is not for "the king" but rather HIS king that he has sworn to support since childhood.

Anubis is probably gonna have a little more respect for Sari as well after this due to her actions/choices (I hope).

The fact that she CHOSE to protect everyone on the ship from harm should make the ones on the ship at least think about whether the old biases should be upheld. At the very least for this small human girl who just saved their asses.

Don't forget they were given the choice to speak and free to go or don't say and die, at the very least they didn't sell her out from the very start.

She is already, though grudgingly, gaining respect. Right now it's kinda shot gun scattered with how she meets people almost randomly but after awhile that coalesces into a pretty solid foundation if kept at long enough.

The thing is though, good kings and queens, good leaders operate on self-sacrifice for their nation.

This could be in many ways, sacrificing sleep and leisure to work for their nation, killing their emotions to make the best choice for the nation. Sacrificing self gain to lift someone else up who might be able to do more for the nation.

Of course it isn't willy nilly sacrificing everything but know when and what to sacrifice while balancing the values.

Well, most often in this story she is placed in situations where the ONLY card she is dealt is personal sacrifice. Since even as acting Queen her supposed authority is undermined when ever the king is not around to enforce it. Only recently has she gotten a Queen's Guard and even he is looked down upon if he is not in a fight.

Man why do they have to make anthropomorphic bad guys look like wolves or snakes or spiders or scorpions I mean I know they look the part but it’s way to cliché. I mean just because they look like villains doesn’t mean they should make them seen as villains. Well that’s just me but all the same very good episode

They made a rabbit a villain in The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World. It kind of threw me off. Instead of using a carnivorous animal maybe use a clever one as a villain.

Dont forget they made a sheep the villain in Zootopia.

Lets not forget a peacock was a villain in Kong Fu Panda 2.

Don't forget a decrepit old fart who can't keep his balance or be aware enough to avoid non-moving sandbags is the villain in power, taking bribes and weaponizing the government like a banana republic in the USA...
